THE SEARCH
I looked for meaning
In the things I saw
Seeking logic
Or some indisputable law
That reduced to reason
The chaos, confusion and contradiction
I perceived.
Each perception brings new richness,
But no answers,
Inspires new questions,
And reveals new marvels,
But no solace
No peace
Only unending mystery.
Yet doubt persists
In the face of the ultimate answer.
Am I blind?
What is it I seek to find
That faith has not already revealed?
Some God beyond God,
Some Will, some Power,
Some other Hope?
O Lord,
Give me hope, if not sight
That I may struggle onward
However blindly
Towards your light.
